Thinking for the future

“Thinking for the future” a lecture conducted by Mr. Janaka Senarathna was held at ENTC 1, University of Moratuwa on 17th of December 2015.

Mr. Janaka Senarathna is a Ph.D. candidate in the department of biomedical engineering at the Johns Hopkins University.  Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, He graduated from the Department of Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Moratuwa. He won the gold medal for the student with the best academic standing in the Electronic and Telecommunications stream and was jointly awarded the Prof. Dayantha S. Wijayasekara award for the most outstanding graduate and the university gold medal for his overall performance in academics and extracurricular activities at the University of Moratuwa. 

The lecture “Thinking for the future” was motivational and throughout the lecture Mr. Janaka Senarathna guided students to build the big picture of their future carrier and gave valuable advices with evidences from his own life experiences.  At the end there was a questioning time and interesting matters were discussed through the questions asked by the audience. Finally he winded up the lecture with a great quote by Sir Albert Einstein. “Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think.”
