Mr. Nilesh Suriyarachchi from the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, University of Moratuwa won the “Student Best Paper Award” at the 17th International Conference on Control, Automation and Systems (ICCAS 2017 http://2017.iccas.org/) held in Jeju, S. Korea during Oct 18~21, 2017. His research addresses the problem of 3D Pose Tracking for GPS-denied Terrain Rovers by proposing a novel Fast State Variable Extension and Enhanced Motion Model. This work was conducted for the EN4922 Research Project module under the supervision of Dr. Peshala Jayasekara.
