At present, my main focus is on developing capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles, particularly small and medium range fixed wing airframes, and rotor-blade vehicles. I try to develop autonomous functions required for optimal mission execution. The other research i am engaged in is unmanned  underwater vehicles. We have built and tested one system with underwater robot and surface vehicle successfully, and am awaiting an underwater localization link to get on with the next phase of development. My main areas of teaching are robotics, control systems, and autonomous systems. I enjoy night sky observations using telescopes- makes me appreciate the specialty of the Earth and the life it fosters. I am a nature-lover, and a nature-photographer too. I also am keen on applying my expertise in areas such as human-elephant conflict, energy-saving, and disaster management using aerial vehicles. Cricket is my most favorite sport. Listening to music, swimming, jogging, hiking, traveling, flying hobby planes with my kids, and friends' company are my other hobbies.
